ALLOW ME TO GO INTO A SERIOUS NOTE (If you would please)
Most of you may be aware on the recent events in France. I was moderately following this, until it dawn to me later on in the days passing the initial news that amongst the 12 victims of the shooting were satirical artist.
Now, I never held any personal convictions in my life, nor did I draw much emotional content to current news. But when I found out about the details, and these artist - It deeply affected me. Never in 7 years has a news ever made me lean back in my chair in dismay.
A part of my life, I spent appreciating satirical art, news paper gags and political comics. It's this that I base my work upon these days. And it is STILL what fuels my works - both educationally and personally. I like to consider myself a lower class satire artist.
...What happened on Jan 7, was not only an attack on France, not only on Charlie Hebdo, but on the rights of artist like us, no matter what sorta artist, whether writer, traditionalist, digital, etc.
Terror may shake us, but it can NOT deter our right to expression. I stand by those who now stand with determination to write, preform and sketch what they think & feel.
To my fellow satirical and non satirical artist (fallen & striving) I honor you.
